How do the Systems Work Together
Space Heating
Lets see first how the Thermopack will reduce your space heating costs. The diagram on the right shows a traditional heating system in comparison to a more modern "zoned" heating system. When the boiler is activated in a traditional heating system, heat is sent to each room even though the room might not require heat at that time. This is shown in the top image of the diagram on the right. This method is inefficient and is needlessly wasting energy to heat rooms that do not require heat.
The image on the bottom shows a modern "zoned" heating system using the EnPer Wireless Heating Controls that will save homeowners 30 - 35% on their heating bills. On the diagram, bedroom 1 is the only room receiving heat. The reason for this is that each room or zone has its own thermostat and every radiator within that zone has its own wireless radiator valve. When bedroom 1 required heat, the thermostat turned on the boiler and the radiator valve opened to allow heat to enter the radiator in bedroom 1. All other radiators remained closed as they did not require heat. The comparison of the diagrams alone shows how savings can be made by the use of the Thermopack. There is no need for any pipework or disruption to the house. The system uses wireless technology to communicate and installation can be completed in less than one day in most homes in Ireland. Hot Water Heating
The Thermopack will also allow the homeowner to heat their hot water for approximately €100 - €150 per year depending on the hot water usage of the household. Our most popular product, the Thermodynamic Solar Friction Panel has been providing our customers with 100% of their hot water needs without the need for fossil fuel assistance. The panels are so reliable that oil/gas boilers are disconnected from the hot water cylinder ensuring that no fossil fuels are used to heat the water.
The image on the right shows a Thermodynamic Panel mounted to the roof where it collects heat from the ambient air temperature. The panel is 2 metres wide by 800mm in height and only weighs 8kg. The panel captures heat through the refrigeration principle and transfers it to the cylinder stored in the hotpress. This system is a stand alone system and does not need any assistance from an oil/gas boiler. The panel is not dependant on sunshine and can heat your water even at night-time. The Thermodynamic Friction Panel will also provide hot water in all weather conditions, including the harsh Winter weather that we currently experience in Ireland.
The system fits neatly on all roofs and can be installed in less than one day with no disruption to the house. With both of these systems installed in your existing house, your bills can be reduced by as much as 60%. The Thermopack contains two market leading systems that are proven technologies and when installed together, they will have a grant assistance from SEAI of €1,280. The Thermopack can be installed in less than two days with no disruption to your home.
Prices for the Thermopack including installation start at €6,100 inclusive of VAT. This price however is based on a 4 bedroom house but all prices are subject to a site survey as all homes can vary in requirements. This price includes a 250 Litre Thermodynamic Solar Friction Panel System and a Wireless Heating Control System. These systems qualify for grant assistance of €1,280.
For example, a typical house with an annual fuel cost of €1,500 can save up to €900 on their bill each year with the Thermopack system. That is a payback of just over 5 years. There is no other system on the market that will save you so much with such a quick payback.
